![]() Thank you very much and in any case thank you even for potentially considering. ![]() this thing with the resizing and replacing or rearrangement of windows, no offense.Īlternatively there could become a settings window available for instance in the Steam overlay Steam options where one could save different presets of windows positions and where one could revert them to for instance fit the screen. I don't know if this is like a good idea perse (some user feedback would be welcome in here for those who dare thread the wall of text I wrote) but I know I certainly for one would appreciate it, like a lot because always. So the idea here is that there would come another button available that would more or less "simply" (depending on the technicalities involved) remember the exact positioning of the windows even if a game is started in a different resolution than say the monitor's native resolution in which case everything works fine until then again the user of Steam chooses to play a game in a different, usually lower resolution than is available as far as to match the monitor's native resolution (sometimes some good old games don't have for instance higher resolution support so they won't start in one) and next to that or together with that suggested button would be a reset window size button. One, almost, need not say more but.Īs for the suggestion, I think it would be nice if there would be a button in the overlay on the windows as there exists now the "X" button to for instance close that window off as left of it there is an option to pin any window to the game so that when you close the overlay off that window which you chose will still stay open and again this is very handy especially in for instance custom notes that the user of Steam may choose to use, notes that they make themselves. Same is the case with notes that you make, which are memorized and different to each game that you play so these I think are really huge and great Quality Of Life Improvements implemented with the new design. This is even the case when you close and open up the overlay's web browser in different sessions and I think that this is useful because sometimes you would want that information to be saved and not to need again to go through the process of looking up particular information that you did in a previous gaming session, like for instance a game's walkthrough or various secrets hunt which can sometimes be a bit tedious or it could take a long time, until the user themselves chooses to close the overlay's web-browser tabs manually as for instance when finished with the information one sought. I have seen that for instance in different games I think this is the case and I am pretty sure that it is 100 per cent correct, that the tabs used for instance in the overlay's web-browser will remember which pages you have visited. Now, I think that this is the case and I am almost 100 per cent certain that this is the case but because I am failing to change my resolution in game or to start an old game up and see if this is actually still the case, which I again think it is because I have seen it even on or with the new UI or new design I would really like to suggest an idea to improve this experience, because honestly when I set up my windows up I kind of want them to remain there at least when I am using my monitor's native resolution with correspondence to the game I am playing and when the overlay UI windows get rearranged. The problem, I think lies in the fact that Steam overlay will automatically adapt the windows from inside the overlay according to at the time of the game start, game's resolution that is being used so it will minimize the windows and regroup them all to fit this lower resolution, whereupon opening up the overlay again in a game in the monitor's native resolution all the windows positions that the user has sometimes meticulously set up and arranged will be totally out of place. This is namely when a game starts in a low resolution than say current monitor's native resolution the UI in the overlay will get all messed up and all the windows will get rearranged and therefore will completely become chaotic when you again in that game for instance or in another one (I think, also in another game) you open up the overlay and want to start using the UI's. I really love the new Steam UI / overlay where we can now make notes for instance but also how the new windows are arranged and new features and how to access them in the overlay but I have a problem with it that was also present in the old Steam UI overlay.
